Please complete this online form to apply for a grant from the Southern Water Goodwill Fund for Hastings and St Leonards at Sussex Community Foundation. 

You must remember to save your application as you complete it by clicking where indicated at the top and bottom of the form. Section 6 - Referee details

We ask that you provide documents as part of your application. We require this information as part of our assessment process, so please do ensure we receive them prior to the deadline as we will not be able to progress your application without this information.

Grant terms and conditions


  1. You will spend the grant as described in your original application. If circumstances or your plans change significantly, please contact Sussex Community Foundation to agree on the changes to your project before spending the funds.
  2. At the end of your project you will send an end of grant report to Sussex Community Foundation to communicate to the Funders. If the project is not completed by the end of this grant period, then you will submit an interim update. If you do not return a report your organisation may not receive further grants from Sussex Community Foundation.
  3. You will provide a copy of your audited accounts or financial statements to Sussex Community Foundation on request.
  4. You will keep appropriate financial records to describe all expenditure involving the use of the grant including receipts and invoices. These records must be made available for inspection when requested by Sussex Community Foundation or its approved auditors.
  5. If the grant, or any part of it, is made for purchasing equipment, you will ensure that insurance is arranged to cover theft and/or accidental damage as appropriate. You will not dispose of any equipment purchased with the grant without the prior written consent of Sussex Community Foundation.
  6. You will acknowledge the source of your funding as the Southern Water Goodwill Fund for Hastings and St Leonards and display a “Supported by a Southern Water Community Grant” logo on your website, social media and premises, where possible.
  7. You will engage with Southern Water’s Grants Partnership Officer and Sussex Community Foundation to help collate case studies, video testimonials and publicity photographs during the period of this grant or the time it takes to complete delivery of your project, whichever is longer and where appropriate to the nature of the project undertaken. 
  8. If you have not used all of the funds at the end of your project, you will contact Sussex Community Foundation to ask for approval of an alternative use of the funds before committing to any expenditure or will return the unspent amount to Sussex Community Foundation.
  9. You agree to ensure equal opportunities in employment practices, membership and in the delivery of any services.
  10. Your organisation is responsible for notifying us of any safeguarding concerns connected to your activities, including letting us know how they have been dealt with.
  11. Your organisation will not undertake in any dangerous or risk behaviour which may bring Sussex Community Foundation or Southern Water into disrepute.
  12. Sussex Community Foundation reserves the right to demand repayment of any funding allocated if this funding agreement is not observed or if the organisation is dissolved in accordance with its constitution.
