Bursary

Please explain why you should be awarded a bursary. Include your academic achievements, predicted grades and any other achievements.

How will a bursary benefit your academic studies?

It is helpful for the panel to understand your personal circumstances and any difficulties you have had or may be experiencing. Please tell us why you need a bursary and how a bursary would make a difference to you and your family.

Conditions and Declaration

· I understand if a bursary is awarded it is based on the information I have given in this form.

· Should I wish to make any alterations or amendments to the agreed purpose of the bursary, such as the course of study, I will first contact Somerset Community Foundation to discuss the changes and to get formal approval.

· If my circumstances change and I will not be continuing with the degree for which financial assistance is sought, I will contact Somerset Community Foundation immediately.

· I will provide written evidence from my University that I have secured a place and will be starting my degree course in the coming academic year. Thereafter I will provide University confirmation of continued study at the start of each academic year and confirm my bank details.

· I understand that bursary payments are made in the autumn term of each academic year, once University confirmation of study and my bank details have been provided. I will confirm when I receive each bursary payment.

· I understand that Somerset Community Foundation is required to conduct an audit of bursaries to ensure that they are used for the purposes for which they are given, and that bursaries identified as misspent may be reclaimed by Somerset Community Foundation.

· I will keep receipts and other proofs of expenditure where possible for payments made using the bursary and will provide them for Somerset Community Foundation if requested.

· I agree to confirm receipt of bursary payments and comply with all reasonable monitoring requirements and will provide feedback to Somerset Community Foundation on how the bursary has helped me at the end of my degree.

· I understand that public information about any bursary awarded may be shared in open datasets. No personally identifying information will be published.
