Bursary

Include: name of university, college or training provider, the title of the qualification you will gain and the start and end dates



Eg: "I would spend £500 on tools needed for my apprenticeship..."

We don't have enough money to support everyone who applies, so this will help us understand more about how it would help you get from where you are to where you want to be in the future.

The money is only available to people with a family income under £35,000 a year. We need to understand how you meet this criteria. Tell us about how many people earn income in your household, how many dependents are in your household and whether your family claims any means tested benefits (eg: Universal Credit)

Reference
We ask for a reference from you school/college tutor, subject teacher, or another professional person who knows you well. You will need to tell them why you need a reference, that you are applying for a Yeovil Educational Trust bursary, and give them this link to the reference form.

If you do not have anyone who can provide a reference please contact us by emailing info@somersetcf.org.uk or calling 01749 344949. Please let us know you are applying for a Yeovil Educational Trust bursary when you contact us. 
Conditions and Declaration
  • I understand if a bursary is awarded it is based on the information I have given in this form.
  • Should I wish to make any alterations or amendments to the agreed purpose of the bursary, such as the course of study, I will first contact Somerset Community Foundation to discuss the changes and to get formal approval. 
  • If my circumstances change and I will not be continuing with the purpose for which financial assistance is sought, I will contact Somerset Community Foundation immediately. 
  • I understand that bursary payments are made once any evidence requested has been provided. I will confirm when the bursary payment has been received. 
  • I understand that Somerset Community Foundation is required to conduct an audit of bursaries to ensure that they are used for the purposes for which they are given, and that bursaries identified as misspent may be reclaimed by Somerset Community Foundation. 
  • I will keep receipts and other proofs of expenditure where possible for payments made using the bursary and will provide them for Somerset Community Foundation if requested. 
  • I agree to confirm receipt of bursary payments and comply with all reasonable monitoring requirements and will provide feedback to Somerset Community Foundation on how the bursary has helped me once the bursary has been spent. 
  • I understand that public information about any bursary awarded may be shared in open datasets. No personally identifying information will be published.
